Welding Cast Iron
¡¡
The Polyweld¢ç 700 Series
¡¡
Polyweld¢ç (AC/DC) - A 99% pure nickel-core
wire, developed to operate on any current. Provides
outstanding, easily machinable weld deposits for the
buildup or joining of cast iron and cast iron to steel.
Specification: AWS-ENiCI
Available forms: E , TIG , MIG
¡¡
Polyweld¢ç 702 (AC/DC) - An excellent AC/DC
straight-polarity product for welding cast iron with
minimum heat output. The high conductivity of its
commercially pure nickel core assures low temperature
fusion with minimum dilution of the cast iron base
metal.
Specification: AWS-ENiCI
Available forms: E
¡¡
Polyweld¢ç 704 (AC/DC) - A 99% commercially
pure nickel-core wire with and electrically
non-conductive coating. Developed for welding most cast
iron and joining cast iron to steel when arcing out in
restricted areas such as deep holes or narrow openings
is a problem.
Specification: AWS-ENiCI
Available forms: E
¡¡
Polyweld¢ç 705 (DC-RP) - For a wear-resistant,
machinable buildup and overlay on grey, nodular,
meehanite and special alloy cast irons. All cast irons
mentioned can be surfaced without buffer layers. Used
primarily for welding flame-hardenable, automotive cast
iron stamping and forming dies (Non-Heat-treatable).
Rc 37 - 40
Specification: NA
Available forms: E , FC
¡¡
Polyweld¢ç 706 - The ultimate for machinable
welds pm gray-malleable or nodular cast iron. Provides
excellent welds on dirty castiron with readily
machinable deposits. Used for the fabrication of cast
iron and joining cast iron to steel.
Specification: AWS-ENiCI
Available forms: E
¡¡
Polymatic¢ç 730-FC - A unique 30% nickel
flux-cored wire for welding ductile, malleable and grey
cast irons or for joining them to carbon steels.
Pre-heat is usually required and the weld deposits are
machinable.
Work-hardens to Rc 40
Specification: NA
Available forms: FC
¡¡
Polyweld¢ç 747-L - A companion
nickel/iron/chrome alloy to Polyweld¢ç 705, with fluxing
agents and precisely extruded coating for non-porous,
homogeneous, iron-base deposits that are marginally
machinable as-welded. Non-heat-treatable.
Rc 46-48 as-welded, work-hardens to Rc 50-55
Specification: NA
Available forms: E
¡¡
Polyweld¢ç 750 (AC/DC) - A 55% nickel alloy
with fluxing agents and precisely extruded coating for
non-porous, homogeneous, nickel-iron deposits. For
welding of ductile, malleable and grey cast irons. Used
to overlay cast iron before surfacing with a more
wear-resistant alloy and for joining cast iron to steel.
Specification: AWS-ENiFeCI
Available forms: E , FC , TIG
¡¡
Polyweld¢ç 755 (DC-RP) - A 55-45 copper/nickel
alloy for excellent color match on cast iron with the
ultimate in machinability. May be used as a first layer
on high-sulphur steels.
Specification: NA
Available forms: E , TIG , MIG
¡¡
Polyweld¢ç 762 (DC-RP) - An economical,
all-position composite electrode for welding most cast
irons and joining cast iron to steel.
Specification: NA
Available forms: E
¡¡
Polyweld¢ç 765 (AC/DC) - A very special 65/35
nickel/iron alloy with the same unique coating as
Polyweld¢ç 702 for a soft, stable arc, minimum dilution
and exceptional weld-bead appearance. Used for welding
cast iron and joining cast iron to steel with excellent
machinability.
Specification: AWS-ENiFeCI
Available forms: E
¡¡
Polyweld¢ç 777 (AC/DC) - An iron-based
electrode that runs well on all currents and either
polarity. Used on cast iron when weld deposits do not
have to be machined.
Specification: NA
Available forms: E
