PRACTICE DRAW

WELD REPAIR OF 2000# RAM WITH 1 1/2 " ADDITION TO WINGS ON DOWEL SIDE AND 3/4"ADDITION ON KEY SIDE
. Scarf-out dowel pocket using Oxy-Acet, torch
. Weld dowel side (refer to 0022-Fig.2).
. Weld key side flat. After leveling, tack-on 1/2" mild steel bar on and weld worm areas (Fig.2).
. Cut off the bar and weld worn areas (Fig.3).
. Clean up and run beads.

WELD REPAIR OF 8000# SOW BLOCK WITH 3" ADDITON TO DOWEL SIDE
. Scarf- out with Oxy-Acet, torch removing cracks and previous weld around dowel.
. Place 3/8" bars around scarfed area.
. Put copper into place (Fig.2).
. Raise sow block vertically past halfway point, turn around, and weld to meet previous weld.
. Remove bar with Oxy-Acet, torch. Place bead around site.
. Position flat. Run a pass using 1/2" rod over worn areas and run beads(refer to 0002-Fig.5).

WELD REPAIR OF COMPLETELY FRACTURED TIE PLATE MADE OF SC45 CAST STEEL
. Preheat prior to tack-welding.
. Tack-weld two pieces together (Fig.2).
. On one side cut out and weld continuously. Peen at top (refer to 0002-Fig.2).
. Repeat procedure for other side.
. Scarf-out approximately 2/3" the depth of the crack between end welds and vertical weld.
. Raise die vertically (Fig.3). Clean side. Run bead on reverse side (refer to 0008-Fig.7).

WELD REPAIR OF BROKEN DIE LOCK
. Tack-on broken lock(fig.1).
. Geuge inside corner out, weld and peen (Fig.2).
. Geuge opposite corner out, weld and peen (Fig.3).
. Position die on end and gouge out remaining crack. Weld and peen (Fig.4).
. Check and put layer on inside and top of lock. Layer on opposite lock (Fig.5).
